Inside a Day
The beach is the classroom.
Soft sand. Hard sand. Ocean. Sun. The best youth gym in the world — and it's free.

A San Diego youth program for kids ages 6–12, led by championship coaches on Del Mar Beach. Real standards, real strength, and the confidence kids carry into every room they walk into.
Coach P (Paul Clotar) and Coach Q (Nate Queen) have been coaching their own boys since age 2 — through t-ball, soccer, basketball, flag football, tennis, golf, and baseball. Both were collegiate athletes. They've coached championship teams season — the kind of locker room kids tell stories about for years. Mind Your P's & Q's takes what worked there and turns it into a year-round program. Strong bodies. Sharp minds. The little things — manners, accountability, finishing what you start — that compound into something rare.
We're hard. We're also fun. Kids leave a Sunday session sweating and laughing.
Our promise to parents
Every P's & Q's Day is built on four pillars — Discipline. Confidence. Mental Toughness. Leadership. Flip a card to see the drills behind each one.

Sundays only for now — more days coming soon. Drop your kid in for The P's & Q's Day: six hours on the sand, lunch included, and a band to earn every time they come back.
One full day · 6 hours · Sundays
One unforgettable day on the sand. Four pillars, 2–3 activities each, a championship lunch — and a band to earn. Drop off a kid, pick up a stronger one by sundown.
We're a nonprofit — add an optional donation at checkout to fund scholarships and local charities. Need help affording a spot? Just ask.
Just like martial arts. Kids climb from White to Black by showing up and completing Days — and every band comes with a real prize. Booster packs at White, all the way up to the black headband and a Champions Trip.
Your first Day. You showed up — that's where every champion starts.
A booster pack — Pokémon or football & baseball cards.
Three Days in. You know the drills, the breathing, the standard.
Pick of the prize box — cards, sports gear, or candy haul.
Six Days. You lead a warm-up and mentor the newest kids.
Official P's & Q's jersey + cap.
Ten Days. You set the pace and model the Code under pressure.
P's & Q's duffel, champion medal & action photo pack.
Fifteen Days. You run a block solo — earned by coaches and peers.
The black headband — and the Champions Trip, an exclusive outing with fellow Champions.
Bands are earned, never given — by reps across all four pillars, not just fitness. A kid can chase the next band at every Day they attend.
Both founders coach their own sons in San Diego youth football. Same standards. Same coaching voice. Same expectation that kids leave better than they came in.

Coach P and Coach Q have coached their own sons since age 2 — through t-ball, soccer, basketball, flag football, tennis, golf, and baseball. Both were collegiate athletes. They show up the same way they show up for their own kids: hard, present, and honest.

No red tape, no “free spot” quotas. If a family needs help, they ask. If you want to give, add a donation when you enroll — or sponsor a young athlete outright.
back to the kids
“If a kid can show up, we'll show up for them. The program doesn't care what neighborhood you came from — only what you're willing to put in.”
— Coach P & Coach Q, co-founders
Mind Your P's & Q's is a San Diego youth coaching non-profit. Founded by championship coaches Coach P (Paul Clotar) and Coach Q (Nate Queen), it delivers beach-based strength, conditioning, and character development for kids ages 6–12. The core program is The P's & Q's Day — one 6-hour day on the sand built on four pillars, with lunch included and a belt-style band to earn each time kids come back and rank up. As a registered nonprofit, parent and sponsor donations fund youth scholarships and support local charities across the county.
No. It's the opposite. Kids work hard and have fun. Coaches push them with respect — never yelling for the sake of yelling. The discipline is real, but the energy is positive.
The P's & Q's Day is built for ages 6–12. We can usually accommodate younger or older siblings on request.
Six hours on the beach, built on four pillars — Discipline, Confidence, Mental Toughness, and Leadership — with 2–3 hands-on activities per pillar. Warm-up and run, sand drills, breath work, team challenges, a finisher game, a championship lunch, and a rank check where kids earn their next band. Lunch and all gear are included.
Like martial arts. Kids earn a colored band for each milestone of Days completed — White, then Blue, Green, Gold, and finally Black. Every band comes with a real prize, from booster packs at White all the way up to the black headband and a Champions Trip with fellow Champions — plus new responsibility and leadership roles. There's always a reason to come back for the next Day.
Workout clothes you don't mind getting sandy, a labeled water bottle, sunscreen on before arrival, and a willingness to try. We provide everything else.
Perfect. That's actually our favorite kid to coach. Our pillar system meets each kid where they are and builds them up. No one gets left behind. No one gets embarrassed.
Yes. If your kid hates their first Day, we refund it — no drama. Plus a Beat-Your-Baseline guarantee: beat your start-of-day numbers by sundown, or your next Day is on us.
